Filmed in Super 8, Factory Snaps is a brief record of the small fabricating and precision engineering companies that I used to make much of my work. When I arrived in London in 1966, I lived in a bedsit and was unable to do much more than draw my ideas for sculptures. Then, I found that there were many small industrial companies in London and I began to use them. The factories themselves fascinated me but, although I spent a considerable amount of time in them in the first years I lived in London, I only managed to film a very small part of the amazing places and strange visions I saw.
