The Power Game   1970

The card game originally called Keys consists of 52 playing cards with a printed word on each side.

Cards are 10 x 7 cm

First performed in 1974 at the International Festival for Democracy in Chile, Royal College of Art, London in collaboration with Alistair Mackintosh.

A one hour video documentary of the performance The Power Game is distributed by Lux in VHS and Beta SP.

Thus a hierarchy is established. A seat at the table confers higher status and rights upon a player. People are allowed into the game room only if they exchange money for gambling chips and if they are suitably attired. All others view the progress of the game on a monitor. The servants of power are never what they seem.
