“In 1960 I began to experiment with plastic using fire. I drew in the air with vibrating, molten sticks of colored plastic called Tefelstuck, creating fine webs of colored lines that settled and bonded with the surface of acrylic sheets (with the help of a small torch). These early experiments led me to work with clear and colourred acrylic polymers.” Liliane Lijn

Tefelstuck is a trademark for a patented plastic stick used to wax skis.
