She was the title Lijn gave to a series of numerous drawings, which she began in order to find a new image for what she felt was the essence of the feminine.

Lijn uses the word feminine to mean an image which is female: a new image of woman.

Making these drawings moved her 3-dimensional work towards a more figurative or a more embodied state.

These drawings then informed Lijn’s sculptures Heshe, Feathered Lady, Lady of the Wild Things.
