3 columns, each 56.5 x 7.5 cm diameter
Aluminium base and electric motor, ground aluminium cylinder wound with:
(1) Enamelled copper wire.
(2) Nickel chrome wire.
(3) Purple enamelled copper wire.
The line of light appears to move simultaneously up and down. This may at first seem a contradiction in terms. The line behaves as one continuous movement but simultaneously within itself contains separate moments of motion.
The oscillating line of reflected light on each cylinder acts as a system of signals that describes spatial changes occurring on the surface of the cylinder.
